Macy's B-day, Sawyer, Matty's B-day

Spring and Summer Fun!

Oh my, I think that this has been the longest stretch without blogging. I have been addicted to facebook and posted quite a few pictures on my profile. Now that it is warm after 2 whole days....knock on wood....I am getting motivated again to blog. I finished cheer camp today also. My team has had a great three days!!!! They are working so hard. We are in a private camp this year....last year we went to UCA which was fun but this year we have accomplished sooo much going private. My girls are really impressing me with their technique and dedication and I am so proud of their hard work!!!!! We have learned some cool stunts, sidelines, dances, show cheers etc for this new school year! So, if you are in Blackfoot during football and basketball season, come to a ballgame and check out the cheerleaders~!
ON THE HOMEFRONT:

Tate finished baseball! He had a great season but decided not to play Allstars this year. He has 2 basketball camps these next two weeks that his dad wants him to go to....and he seems pumped too. I love watching him play baseball but it was his decision to go to these camps that are put on by Aaron's cousins.....they are basketball coaches in Colorado, Kansas and Texas.....neat opportunities for Tate. Plus the poor kids just wants to be a kid!!!! Shoot his BB-gun, ride his bike and build forts:) I have been looking forward to an easy going summer where the kids can just play and we don't have to be anywhere! We will start swimming after the 4th! Macy, Matthew, and myself are going up to the cabin next week just to chill....should be wonderful!

Here are some pics of our Spring endeavors......I have been such a slacker I know and many of you have seen the on Facebook......I can print them off my blog though so I am going to post them here too!!!!

I so enjoy Conference weekend and Easter. Tulips peeking through the ground, a little sunshine, and watching conference this weekend has been so relaxing. MY kids are able to go outside now and it is just refreshing any way you look at it:)! I had the kids Easter pics taken....they turned out cute. Hang in there....... all of you that are tired of the wind and snow! I think we will have Spring here pretty soon!!!!!!

It Has Been Awhile!

Wow, I have been such a slacker in this blogging world. I have been extremely busy these past few weeks with State basketball and junior miss stuf. I went to Boise two weekends in a row, without husband and children, and it took a lot of preparation:). I can't leave my family unless all of my work is finished.....house clean, laundry done, shopping finished, kid's clothing layed out....ya ya ya, I know, I am kind-of a control, clean freak.....I'm working on it LOL!. I seriously cannot relax unless I know that my family is alright and there is some structure to their day.....and that my home will be organized when I return. I enjoyed my time away but I do miss my family fiercely when I am away from them for more than a couple of days. I miss my babies crawling into my bed saying, "Can I hold you?" I had my own room at State Basketball and it was heaven for the first couple of days....I read my book about Queen Elizabeth, I took hot bathes, ordered room service, enjoyed the silence:);but, by the third and fourth days, I was ready to return to the grind of family life:)
Aaron took the boys on a Scout overnighter Friday night! It was Matty's first one. He dressed himself with the backpack, snow boots and Cowboy hat. I thought it was hilarious! Macy brought home this sock monkey from kindergarten! She is very responsible in taking things back and making sure I am on task too! Tate, Macy, and Matty are holding Alex.....we get to watch him every so often!

Campfire USA!

We had Tate's Blue and Gold Banquet tonight. We were required to bring a cake for a cake walk. I wasn't planning on going because we had a district game at Hillcrest and I didn't think Tate would mind missing pack-meeting for a basketball game. Boy was I wrong. He came home from school just pumped as could be asking me how we were going to decorate his cake this year.........Yea, it is 3:30 p.m. and I have no intention or supplies to bake and decorate a cake. I could tell decorating a cake meant a lot to him and I was feeling a little bad about not planning on pack meeting. So, I looked up a cake on Family Fun (love this magazine) and went to Wal-Mart for the supplies. I didn't have to bake a cake because it is two pre-made Angel food cakes....yippee! I just followed the recipe, frosted the heck out of "the logs" and used chocolate doughnut holes for the hot coals. The fire is fruit roll-ups. It took us 45 minutes....Whew! I almost failed as a mother, today, but was saved by this easy recipe....thank goodness! Also, I am proud of my son for reminding me of what is really important:).

Finished Basement is under way!

I am very excited this weekend. My husband and brother-in-law finished the electrical in our basement. We have been saving money and slowly but surely finishing our basement when we can. We are on to sheet rock and I am so very happy. I walked downstairs today and it was like I walked out into the hot sun after a long winter:) It was wonderful. THE LIGHT IS SO GREAT down there!
I haven't blogged for awhile! We have been busy with basketball, puppy, cheerleaders, Raimee's game @ BYU, puppy, games, dance, puppy, gymnastics....you name it we're doing it:) I have been spending ridiculous amounts of time on FACEBOOK also. We had a lesson in Relief Society last week emphasizing our time and making ourselves available to feel the spirit. I will have to say, that I am too busy sometimes. I do function better when I have a lot going on vs. when I don't. I think that I need to be careful, though. WE can get so wrapped up in the wrong things if we allow ourselves to. I need emotional and spiritual strength so the lesson really hit home! I am grateful for lessons and reminders of what is trully important in life. AARON, my KIDS, and living the GOSPEL is my importance.....from the words of my sister-in-law, Cara, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen":) I know that is what you are thinking:)

Our new baby Sawyer!

Here he is, our new chocolate lab, Sawyer. We have had him for a week and it has been bittersweet. Look at this face and tell me he isn't the cutest little thing you ever did see:). He has been quite a bit of work, though. I seriously feel like I have a newborn baby. Between feedings, potty training, and rockin' him at night, I am exhausted. I want to be a good owner, so I bought a book on training labs. It has been interesting. He will be an outdoor dog, but for right now it is too cold to put him outside, so I have been housetraining him. I had to leave for a couple of days with my cheerleaders and I was worried that Aaron couldn't handle all of the duties and ultimately keep my house and "carpet" clean. He said, "Tracy, I had a lot of dogs growing up out in Riverton." I told him that I knew that but that they just ran free out in the country and pooped where they wanted to. I said, "We are training Sawyer to be a respectable, city dog that poops in one place out in the yard." He was a little offended with my logic LOL!!! We have been excercising the little guy so he sleeps through the night. Bless his little heart, he is wanting me to put him in his kennel so Macy and Matty don't maul him. All in all, the little guy has a family that loves him and I guess that is all that matters!

Love Mary Poppins!

I love old Disney movies, especially Mary Poppins. I know that childhood favorites may be attributed to great childhood memories and I think that is where my love for Mary Poppins came into play. My grandmother Goodwin used to have a record player that sat in a beautiful entertainment system complete with a T.V, soundsystem, recordplayer all placed in beautiful cabinetry. It was a lovely piece of furniture with carved paisely. Her father had a furniture store so she has unique pieces of furniture. She has since placed her modern, big screen on top of the furniture but because of it's intricate beauty has not moved the piece. I have vivid memories of watching the movie at her home but also listening to the record in that record player. If I remember right, the media entertainment was not easy to come by. In fact, I think we checked-out the record from the public library. We didn't own the copy so it meant that much more to us......well, like viewing a film at the movie theater before VCR's and easy accessible media entertainment......everyone saw it once and held on tight to the memory. Santa brought the kids a Mary Poppins DVD, and I'll tell you what, I have watched it over and over with them. Macy and Matthew have been singing a "Spoon Full of Sugar", "Supercalifradgilisticexpealidocious", and "Chim Chimeny" for 3 weeks now. I love it and I think what I love the most is the innocence and the great, special memories of my sweet grandmother, her home, and singing to that record player!
